OK-APSE stands as a dedicated proponent of the Employment First initiative in Oklahoma. It’s an honor and responsibility that we take very seriously. Our collective efforts at the national level, across state chapters, and within our board have led to significant strides. The OK-APSE Governing Board, considered our complex world and sought to answer: What is the right role for OK-APSE in building the world we want to see?
Centering on our mutual principles and reaffirming our belief that employment is a universal right, the Governing Board has explored diverse strategies to aid lawmakers, financial backers, commercial entities, families, service facilitators, and individuals with disabilities. Our aim is to champion Employment First, the essence of our shared mission.
OK-APSE is a team of professionals from different backgrounds who all believe in the same ideas and principles for success and fulfillment: To advance employment equity for people with disabilities. We are eager to share these ideas with everyone longing for growth and change. We believe every person has the same potential to have a dramatic impact on the world and in their personal lives. We want to do all we can to support and encourage that potential.
The Association of People Supporting Employment First (APSE)
The Association of People Supporting Employment First (APSE) is the only national organization focused exclusively on Employment First to facilitate the full inclusion of people with disabilities in the workplace and community.
APSE members recognize that everyone has abilities to contribute and their work should be recognized and rewarded with fair pay, creating inclusive workplaces. Employment enriches and adds meaning to every life, and workplaces and communities are enhanced when they embrace differences.
We are so grateful for the support of our corporate partners, who are committed to helping people and building stronger communities. Together, we are helping make a difference in the lives of so many. With the help of our sponsors, OK-APSE continues to fulfill our mission of supporting our disabled community.
